Isle of Wight Festival 8th - 10th June 2007 The Isle of Wight Festivals have a legendary status, with those held between 1968 and 1970 being acknowledged as Europe's equivalent to Woodstock. In 1970 Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Joni Mitchell, Free, Leonard Cohen, Joan Baez and the Moody Blues, amongst others, played to over 600,000 people, the climax of a 5 day music extravaganza attracting an audience and artists from all over the world. Unfortunately, the impact on the island was so great that Parliament passed the Isle of Wight Act banning gatherings of over 5000 people until 2002 when the Festival was re-established and has quickly become a must-see event. A more modest audience of up to 50,000 has since enjoyed headline acts such as the Who, David Bowie, REM and Coldplay. http://www.isleofwightfestival.com The Bestival 7th - 9th September 2007 The Bestival is an award winning 3 day boutique music festival set at Robin Hill - a beautiful leafy country park in the heart of the Isle of Wight. It was voted the 'Best Medium-to-Large Festival' for the 2005 and 2006 UK Festival Awards whilst also setting the world record for the Biggest Fancy Dress Parade (10,000 people dressed as Cowboys & Indians!). Curated by Radio One DJ Rob da Bank, Bestival features 9 stages of live music, cabaret and some of the world's top DJs. In 2006, the headline acts included the Scissor Sisters and Pet Shop Boys. http://www.bestival.net Camden Crawl 19-20 April 2007 http://www.thecamdencrawl.com All Tomorrow's Parties Festival 26 April 2007 http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/alltomorrowsparties/2007/ Orange Evolution 12 days at the end of May 2007 http://www.orangeevolution.co.uk Download Festival 8-10 June 2007 http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk O2 Wireless Festival 14-17 June 2007 http://www.o2wirelessfestival.co.uk Middlesbrough Music Live 17 June 2007 http://www.middlesbroughmusiclive.co.uk Glastonbury Festival 22-24 June 2007 http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk Knowsley Hall Music Festival 23-24 June 2007 http://www.knowsleyhallmusicfestival.co.uk Latitude Festival 12-15 July 2007 http://www.latitudefestival.co.uk Guilfest 13-15 July 2007 http://www.guilfest.co.uk Dpercussion Festival 4 August (tbc) 2007 http://www.dpercussion.com Underage London Festival 10 August 2007 http://www.underagefestivals.com Field Day London Festival 11 August 2007 http://www.fielddayfestivals.com Unleashed festival 6-12 August 2007 http://www.ripcurlboardmasters.com V Festival 18-19 August 2007 http://www.vfestival.com International Beatle Week 22-28 August 2007 http://www.cavern-liverpool.co.uk/beatleweek/ Leeds Festival 24-26 August 2007 http://www.leedsfestival.com Carling Reading Festival 24-26 August 2007 http://www.readingfestival.com Mathew Street Music Festival 24-27 August 2007 http://www.mathewstreetfestival.com Creamfields 3pm 25 Aug - 6am 26th August 2007 http://www.cream.co.uk In the City festival end of October 2007 http://www.inthecity.co.uk Gigbeth 1-3 November 2007 http://www.gigbeth.com Liverpool Music Week 1-10 November 2007 http://www.liverpoolmusicweek.co.uk In keeping with the ethos behind Liverpool Music Week, some of the cream of the north west’s freshest talent have been confirmed including Candie Payne whose dulcet tones give a firm nod towards the classic 60’s sound, Wirral based trio The Rascals, a firm favourite with the Arctic Monkeys having supported them this year and have been holed up in the studio producing their debut EP which is set for release in November, plus 2 other bands from the Deltasonic stable, Wigan band The Suzukis, a great guitar band with attitude, and The Tigerpicks, which comprises of two girls and one boy and a music manifesto which rewrites the indie dancefloor rulebook.
